happy halloween, happy friday and happy new shirt day!

So I'm extra happy today for four reasons:
1. it is FRIDAY!
2. it is Halloween...I'm not much into dressing up BUT I enjoy going over to my sister's house to
see my nieces in their costumes and to eat some VERY tasty food
3. I'm going to South Bend tomorrow to tailgate for the Notre Dame game with a bunch of friends...yes, I said JUST tailgate. I'm lame and do not want to actually go into the game! haha BUT food, brew and friends before the game equals TONS-O-FUN!
and last but CERTAINLY not least
4. I am wearing my new shirt that I got from this great Etsy shop!
It is so soft and cozy I never want to take it off!!!! So thank you VERY much Rebecca!!!
I'm not so happy today for ONE reason (sadface):
On Tuesday at my aerobics class the 6-7 MONTH PREGNANT INSTRUCTOR kicked my butt and I am still sore. REALLY instructor lady?!?!?! Must you show me how out of shape I am by easily completing a round of 25 push ups while I am grunting attempting to do 10!?!?!? And then as an added bonus you are able to have that bun in your oven and still keep perfect form whilst doing a bizillion squats! Thanks!!!

I present...

MY VERY FIRST BIG DIY PROJECT!!!!!
I made this twin size headboard to go in one of our guest rooms. It is a shoebox of a room and for a year and half (every since we have lived in our house) this room has been a pesky thorn in my side. I could make it into an office but lets get serious, what business do Stone and I do that requires an office?...NONE. I could make it into a nursery BUT this little lady is not ready for that just yet! Thus, I have decided to make it into another guest room. I feel like a regular Bed & Breakfast!
I can't take credit for the idea of making my own headboard...my crafty sister Heather made my niece Laney one and I snatched the idea right up from her.
I am down right proud of this little diddy! I got the fabric on clearance from Pottery Barn (I had been eyeing it for quite some time), the legs were extra staircase spindles I found in our garage (thank you to the lady who sold us our house!) and I found coupons for all the other goods from Hobby Lobby!
To tell you how proud of myself I was when I finished this....I showed it to Antwone, the AT&T repair man, that was doing work in our house last Saturday! haha!
*I also accidentally gave him a show when he came up the stairs unexpectedly and I was in a t-shirt and my undies! OOPS! I literally jumped into the hall closet and hid myself! haha!
I'm sure he thinks I'm a total NUT!

It's love...it really is!

photo from Anthropologie

I need this dress! I don't just want it I need it. I need to prance around the house in it! I need to wear it to a wedding and dance my little heart out in it I need to walk down the stairs with it on and have my husband tell me I look beautiful and then take me in his arms and slow dance with me...right there in the dining room, no music, no dance floor...just us (well and Matilda, standing whimpering next to us because she wishes she wasn't a dog and could dance with us too...then I will bend down and pick her little paws up and slow dance with her. Until she tries to bite my hands for holding her paws.)

See what I mean.....I need this dress!

Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo

I went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday with two of my favorite ladies...Katie Jean and Momma O.
We had a delightful time watching the strong young men unloading the pumpkins from the wagon (please see photo #2... behind us)
Here are my thoughts though:
Not only was there a pumpkin patch but there was also an apple orchard. However, it was a "no pick" orchard. I am slightly disturbed my this! What on earth is the point of having an apple orchard that is open to the public to SEE but NOT TOUCH! It is down right rude and hurtful! They are toying with my emotions and I don't like it one bit!
On a happier note: I have softened my heart towards this pumpkin patch/apple orchard a little...How could I??? Well, it's because they had a little ditty called the "Fairytale Pumpkin". Basically they are the greatest thing I've ever seen! They are straight out of Cinderella!... and you can bet your bottom dollar I bought myself one and it is sitting on my front porch (just waiting to get stolen/smashed by some unruly teenagers). HAPPY OCTOBER!!!!

Betty Crocker?

I'm not sure where I got the idea in my head that once married a girl becomes some sort of domestic goddess....but I can assure anyone who asks, it ain't true folks!

It's taken about a year and three months for me to become domestic. I am sad to report no where near goddess though.

Don't get the wrong idea by all this....I am a feminist and PROUD of it. I don't think it is just the lady's job to get things done around the house. My hubs knows what he is to do around our house, the vacuuming and the laundry...the laundry is in the basement and I just plain don't go down to that haunted place, but that is a neither here nor there (and deserves it's own post on it's own day)

But recently it is as if a switch has been turned on in this little lady's head! I must admit I rather enjoy coming home to my humble home, with my lovely husband in it, and whipping up a tasty meal. Heck, enjoy is the wrong word...I'm PROUD of my tasty meals!!! And proud of my fun bright kitchen to boot! I've even been doing the dishes EVERY DAY. None of that leaving them in the sink stuff. I'm getting things done around here.

Oh, to explain the picture....I had intended on posting a bitchin pic of my kitchen but failed to get the picture loaded properly. Therefore I present the cake from my bridal shower. I know lame, but it is all I could come up with!

Here's the deal....

Stone (my hubs) says I mosey. In fact, him and I have had an entire conversation about how my gal pals and I walk...and I must confess he can mimic our walks quite well...But that is besides the point. I've been chewing on starting a blog for a while (and in my world "awhile" means a week or two) but I've been a bit nervous about it. I mean lets get serious, do I really have enough to talk/write about to have a blog? Then I remembered that I am Motor Mouth Magoo and can talk for hours!...seriously my mom has timed me. I think the clinical term would be "diarrhea of the mouth" and I've got it! WRITE ME A PRESCRIPTION DOC!

So, I decide that I'm gonna do it. My next big decision for the day would be THE BLOG TITLE. After much thought and nail biting I decided on "I Like To Mosey". Why that title you ask? Well.....the other names I came up with just didn't fit, you know? It's like how when you go wedding dress shopping and everyone says, "You will know the dress when you try it on." Every name I thought of just didn't fit. Then the light bulb went off and I thought of how my love told me that I mosey. A little smile came to my face and I thought DING DING DING that is the one! It just fit. Plus, it completely lends a hand to the whole reason I wanted to start a blog!

REASON FOR WANTING TO START A BLOG:

I've turned a new leaf.

Yes, a leaf has been turned. It has been decided (by me) that I no longer need to "sweat the small stuff" as they say. There are so many things in my life that bring me such joy and happiness that it seems silly to waste time on being upset or grumpy about things I can't change. Therefore I want to devote my blog to all the good things I am moseying through in life.

"The Fine Print"

*Please do not hold it against me if I ever revert and post a Debby Downer post...it's hard turning a new leaf!

Happy Friday

Court & Matilda St. Patty's Day 2008

Things that made me smile today:

*Whilst driving to work (and bobbing my head to some sweet tunes) I stopped at a red light about half way to my J-O-B, looked to my right and who do I see???? None other than my truest love, STONE!!!! He just so happened to be going the same direction as me and didn't mention it when we left home! I got to see his sweet face one more time before getting to work!

*The wooden stork outside the Birthing Center on my way to work had a little blue bundle hanging from it.....which means someone had a little boy today!

*Eating a burrito bowl with mi madre at Chipotle....it was SO tasty!

SOMETHING THAT DID NOT MAKE ME SMILE TODAY:

*I let Matilda out when I got home and she proceeded to step in her own poo poo (unbeknownst to me) and then jump on/rub her paws on me....therefore transferring the poo from her to me.....NOT OK.
